SpotUs

Find the ones who still care.

A lot of companies got too big to care about a single customer. Plenty of others never stopped. SpotUs shines a light on the difference — and points you to the ones who still treat you like a person, not a margin.

Sourced, un-buyable, and on your side. No business pays for a good grade.

The Spotlight · preview

We measure who makes it hard to leave.

The first report, The Cancel Test, grades 74 major companies on one standard: you clicked cancel — it should cancel. Cable, wireless, banks, insurers, and gyms make it nearly impossible; streaming and the payment apps prove they all could. Every grade sourced, dated, and impossible to buy.

The Service Score

Service. Not price. Not product.

The Service Score grades exactly one thing: how a business treats you when you need it. Three pillars, all measurable, all sourced.

Reach a human

When you ask for a person, you get a person — without a fee, a maze, or a bot you must exhaust first.

Leave as easily as you joined

You clicked cancel — it should cancel. The Cancel Test is this pillar, measured company by company.

First “no” honored

One clear no ends it. No save-desks, no page-mazes, no “are you sure” gauntlets.

Out of scope — we never grade: price product quality marketing

We expose the friction the too-big-to-care pile on — hidden cancel mazes, endless holds, dark patterns, junk fees. Named, measured, and backed by regulators’ own records, so you know exactly who you’re dealing with.

The Concierge

The board is up: every licensed contractor in California — 159,199 of them — by trade and city, straight from the state’s public record. No one paid to be there; a business pays only when a match works, never for placement.

How a grade is made

Measured. Graded. Never for sale.

Same inputs, same grade — whoever runs it. Every Service Score is a published rubric applied to sourced, dated facts. Nothing holistic, nothing negotiated, and no one buys their way up.

1

We measure

Objective tests — from the company’s own pages, regulators’ records, and our own first-party testing. Clicks counted, holds timed, fine print read.

2

Graded against the ideal

Every business starts at 100 — you clicked cancel, it should cancel. Each deliberate obstacle costs points. A to F, with no industry curve.

3

Every grade shows its work

Open any grade and see exactly which tests it failed — every fact sourced and dated. Businesses get a right of reply and can dispute the facts.

4

The firewall

A company can dispute the facts, like a credit report — but it can never buy the grade. No placements, no auctions, no exceptions.

The customer credit bureau

The credit bureau, flipped.

Credit bureaus build a file on you — your payments, your debts, your slip-ups. SpotUs is the customer credit bureau: we build one on them — and you’re the one who checks it.

Every grade is a sourced, dated record you can check for yourself. A company can dispute the facts — the way you’d dispute a credit report — but it can never buy the grade.

“Your call is very important to us.” You know how that ends.
